The northernmost inhabited place in the world, Alert, Nunavut, is home to temporary residents year-round. The locals are stationed there as staff of a collection of government and military facilities; most notably the signal receiving station. The lowest recorded temperature is -64.7ºC. My father, a military photographer, was once posted there. This album is inspired by the stories he told of his time there.

Following the journey of somebody posted in one of the most desolate locations in the world, this sonic meditation conveys the icy madness, the unnerving calm, and the hidden perils of the Great White North.
